There's an old saying in English about 'taking coal to Newcastle', this is internationalised as 'taking sand to the desert'.. but could as easily be 'taking slots to Vegas'.
If you're standing in the middle of the gaming floor at Caesars Palace, after putting the last $1 of your $1000 bankroll into the gaping mouth of Lucky Mermaids Super MegaSlot, are you really going to feel comforted by the fact that you still have $100 credit on the slots game, which is on your mobile phone, which you're now fumbling for in your pocket, in order to text your Mrs that you're having an incredibly boring evening and not spoken to any women at all and not lost a penny?
In essence, does Vegas need Mobile or Wireless Slots and Casino?
Evidently so according to some, as Cantor Gaming develop eDeck, which is currently undergoing field trials at The Venetian and is integrating the game assets of Michael "Mickey" Wichinsky's family of businesses. Edeck is wireless (virtual) casino gaming within a real casino environment albeit by the pool, when you're having a minute 'away' from the tables or whilst trying to decide on a nightcap before going off to dream about playing even more slots (probably in the all together).
Anyway..is this coals to Newcastle or a stroke of genius..or indeed both?
Im fascinated to learn the thoughts of WGE Members and others on the subject.
