I've just developed a Facebook app to help promote my board game.

http://apps.facebook.com/gifttrap/

It's a virtual gift-exchange game where you compete to know your friends by trying to choose gifts that your friends really like.

It's new and evolving. I'd be interested in other people's views of FB as a platform?

Thanks

The one problem I've found with FB games is that they require you to invite all your friends or even other players (strangers) in order to play them fully. I used to play one called Mob Wars, but just ended up with lots of strangers wanting to add me, which isn't a good idea considering the privacy and personal aspect of the platform.

Not everyone likes or wants to add more applications on FB so it makes it harder to get the most out of games if adding people is a huge requirement.

The gift exchange game is a good choice considering many friends already enjoy sending each other gifts or various other things like hugs etc. If you can create a game, which doesn't rely solely on people being forced to add their friends, you'll get a lot more respect on there as an application.

It would be better to rely on an internal community so users could interact without having to add people they don't know.

Just a thought.
I'd agree.

Invites stop people looking.

It's a barrier to app usage for sure.
