About Me:
The company was founded in 2010 by Mark Ripley, a games industry veteran who’s been developing games since 1981.

Mark’s games portfolio of over 100 games, includes brands such as Harry Potter, The Sims, Pirates of the Caribbean, Final Fantasy, Crash Bandicoot, for clients including BMW, American Express, EA, Disney, BBC, Daily Mirror, Manchester United, Eidos, and Chillingo, as well as many original and self-published games.

In 1996, Mark founded MDR, developing web games using Java and Desktop Toys. Mark developed Gintris – a multiplayer game for Gordon’s Gin – the first of its kind and showcased by Sun around the world. Desktop Toys were also popular, with toys produced for Sony and BBC.

In 1999, Mark founded Friendly Giants concentrating on games for the Internet, mobile phones and interactive television. The company created the largest portfolio of web-based games in the world at that time and achieving over 15 million users per month. Friendly Giants’ games were recognised as the best on the web, winning many accolades and twice featured in Sun’s keynote speech at Java One. Friendly Giants was renowned for its innovation including some of the first web and digital set-top box multi player games in the world.

In 2001, Mark founded Cheeky Group, a collection of companies each focusing on a particular gaming niche. Cheeky Wireless self-published mobile games, as well as being one of only a handful of developers commissioned to produce content for the 3 network. CW went on to produce games for publishers, as well as porting the majority of Jamdat’s content to European J2ME handsets. Cheeky Marketing targeted web and desktop based content, including Harry Potter for EA, Desktop Toys for Daily Mirror and original games for Manchester United. Cheeky Vision targeted interactive TV, producing Pirates of the Caribbean for Disney on Sky.

In 2003, Mark sold up and moved to the Greek island of Corfu and spent three years involved in a house renovation project. During that time he also collaborated with industry legend Jeff Minter on bringing his classic Gridrunner game to mobile, web and Facebook, developed the Blobbit series of games with Stoo Cambridge (Sensi Soccer, Cannon Fodder), as well as developing Eidos’ Facebook games framework.
