The best of Brazilian gaming industry, animation and comics takes place in November near Rio de Janeiro
The National Festival of Animation, Comics and Games of Mountainous Region of Rio de Janeiro, called Animaserra 2011, brings to its sixth event workshops, lectures, exhibits and displays, with the best of cartoons, comics and video game producers from all around Brazil and South America.
The show is organized and produced by LightDesk Productions and is considered by the specialized press as one of the largest and best festivals in Brazil. This year, the 6th Animaserra includes the participation of large multinational market, such as Editora Abril - responsible for the publications Disney and Cartoon Network / DC Comics in Brazil, Toon Boom Studio (Canadian leader in traditional animation software), Panini Comics – publishing house of Mauricio de Sousa Productions and Marvel Studios, Inducks Brazil - database of Disney artists, Rascunho - Studio of Visual Arts, 2AB Publisher and Rio Comicon – the Brazilian version of Comicon.
The creator and producer of Animaserra, Antonio Ribeiro says that with the expansion of the gaming market in Brazil, there couldn´t be a better time to bring these segment attractions to the event: "The experience that Insolita Studios has in publishing games Worldwide is fantastic for a Brazilian company and Aquiris shows a side still not totally appreciated, a thorough understanding of the necessary skills required by companies in the gaming market. Whoever is interested in entering the gaming market cannot miss an opportunity like this"- says Mr. Ribeiro.
Rodrigodraw Miguel, co-creator of the event and also creator of the Senninha character (inspired as a tribute to the Brazilian F1 pilot Ayrton Senna) makes an exciting prelude to the great sporting events that Brazil will host such as the World Cup and Olympics "Comic book and animated films generate millions of dollars and are powerful advertising tools. The Senninha, besides being a comic book character of great charisma, is an important "ambassador" of Brazil, as Ayrton Senna was"- says the event producer.
Recognized as an important instrument of tourism to the mountainous region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the event received sponsorship and support from the following: Aciat - Association of Commercial, Industrial and Agricultural Teresopolis, Brazil and Arbor Brasil, a huge Brazilian company in the beverage industry.
Among the speakers will be: Aquiris Game Experience - represented by Israel Mendes and Amilton Diesel; and Martin Fabichak – from Insolita Studios, the first studio to produce a game for PSP made entirely in Brazil.In addition to competitive exhibitions of film animation, the event displays the acclaimed session called “Old Cartoons”, showing cartoons of the 40´s to 60´s.
On 10 and 11 November, Thursday and Friday respectively, from 15h to 17h, there will be 3D animation workshops and exhibitions of national comics. On Saturday, November 12, attractions will be available from 14h to 20h. All activities are free of charge. Complete program at www.animaserra.com.br.
