Neggi Studio Launches iOS Game Zombie Piñata - NextMontreal.com

Neggi Studio is an independent game developer created by two teams, one in Mexico and one in Canada. Neggi Studio Monterrey was founded by Ivan Ramirez and German Vazquez in April 2010. Neggi Studio Montreal started in December 2010 by Alexandre Martel, Dao Sino and Simon Forget.

Their first game is Zombie Piñata, available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It costs $0.99. The game is available for download in the App Store.

Zombie Piñata is an action game based in Mexico where you run around whacking zombie piñatas. The game features old school side-scroller gameplay that presents a quick fix of action on the go.

  • Players must clean the infected cities in Mexico in 30+ levels with hordes of zombies that want to turn you into their midnight snack
  • Use different weapons and with the upgradable combos turn your regular piñata whacking stick into the legendary “Master Stick”
  • Free DLC from day one will keep you busy blasting piñatas for many hours

The collaboration with the Mexican studio allows for much more inexpensive game development, according to Alexandre Martel. Although the studios do work independently as well, they share the same name and the same interests in mobile game development in order to be able to do more development, more quickly and have a strong partnership. They also hope to target a growing Mexican and South American market.

The founders in Montreal – Alexandre Martel, Dao Sino and Simon Forget – have a combined 29 years experience in the video game industry. That experiences range from game development, illustration, scripting, management, marketing and more.

Alexandre noted that they plan to continue building mobile games for the next 6 months or so, but do have plans to move into console gaming as well.
